Day 6: SF Golden Gate Bridge

Our last chance at having a sunny day in San Francisco was met with even more fog and chilly weather.  We had hoped for a good day as we took Mom to the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and a boat tour of the Bay.  We did get a little sunshine in the afternoon, but the bridge always had the fog!

As Mom and Karen listen to the audio program, talking about the history of the Bay, Karen acts as tour guide and points out the general areas they are hearing about.
Our boat arrives to take us out on a tour of the Bay.  We got to go under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz Island before heading back toward the Wharf.
A ship heads into port as we are touring the bay.  You just can't believe how big those cargo ships can really get.  They are HUGE!
The Golden Gate Bridge from the boat.  Okay, so we were able to see a little more of the bridge.  However, it sure was cold as we headed out and around the bay.  Where was that sunshine we had a minute ago?

The sunshine returns as we head towards Alcatraz Island and away from the Bridge.  While these two places are only a few miles apart, the temperature and climate can vary quite a bit on foggy days.  Karen is playing "Queen of the World!"
Back to the Wharf, and the end of our boat tour and our day in San Francisco.  We sure had a fun-filled adventure for Mom's visit.
Alcatraz Island, an old prison, is still available for you to tour.  However, we chose to take the water tour and not climb up all those stairs.  This was day 6 remember!
