Desciption of Submission: Satirical Poem Religion

I never told a lie I didn’t have to tell I obeyed my parents And made sure they were
well I never hit my brother Never cheated in class Was never scolded or
beaten For showing too much sass I never said a curse word I never held a gun I never drank or smoked And was never on the run I went to church on
Sundays Said my prayers every
night Ran a charity for the
orphanage And became their ray of
light I ended world hunger Even implemented world
peace Paid my taxes on time And paid my neighbor’s lease I fostered three children Two birds and a cat And when the world ended In spite of all that God looked at his sheet With a smile and a frown And shook his great head As he looked me down He said that my deeds Were fine and swell But because I was gay I was still going to hell. |
