Description of Submission: "Photos showing the process of being transgender and the transformation from man to woman. These photos not only represent the transition from a man to a woman, but so much more. They begin with a man working in a workshop - being "MASCULINE" and doing what is expected of him, by society. In the second photo - he is taking off the suit jacket - stripping himself of his masculinety. The jacket represents being a man, being masculine - and serves as a sort of protective shell represssing his true feelings and desires. The third is of him shaing. Beards, mustaches and goatees all mean YOU ARE A MAN ... Your facial hair proves it. Al of these photos are darker because the man is unhappy when he has to act masculine. The next photo - in the middle - shows the same man, dressed in a corset, garter and tights. His head is in his hands to show shame - He is not PROUD of being the way he is because of the guild society puts on this shoulders. The next is of HIM getting dressed into the clotehs he feels natural in - with the following being similar to the 3rd photo - only this time with makeup. This represents the mask he must wear during his everyday life. THe final photo is of him as a woman... ....Confident, sexy, but hiding in a closet. He feels that although that is who he truly is.. he must closet those feelings and esires. This photo is brightest to also show his confidence as a woman. Things are "brighter" to him when he is himself. The frame is dirty and broken - the way society sees this lifestyle, and the final photo is cracked because of how living two lives can really break a person; Both mentally and physcially. Nate, Meet Natalie... Isn't she beautiful?" - Jennifer Why Karen and Melody Liked It: We liked how each of the photos showed so much details, feelings and meanings. The description of the photos of each stage really helped to explain the transformation from man to woman. |
