Listen to love songs

Fall on knees in fear

That love will fly away

Shake from the joy

The warm and gentle embrace

Cuddling as the rain trickles

In my free country I can

Love without fear

Kiss without caution

Because I am a woman

My sweetheart is a man

Morality involved apparently

Yet he and I don't look at laws

Don't look at religion

We just love each other

In the land of religion and state not mixing

Why are there laws defining love?

Love is a private, priceless thing!

The cultural norm dictates oppression

Religious values suffocate freedom

The country shakes its fists for bigotry

How would my love be dampened if others love?

If a gay person can marry, how would my marriage suffer?

Instead my freedom is trampled when others aren't free

A natural way to love with humans and even animals for ages

Yet a taboo subject for the free world

A group of people in this free nation with inequality!

Our history of cruelty to group after group is not enough

Must we continue to find a people to ostracize?

When can we truly value the beautiful diversity of the nation?

Love songs play for me but others are in fear

Some are afraid to be themselves, afraid to love

A tragic few afraid to even live in a world that hates

Love is precious, freedom is precious!

I cry for those who cannot love with equality

I cry even more for the ignorance that prevents this right
