Best Song “Fly Away” By Joshua Brueckner - OH |
Desciption of Submission: “In life, it is very easy t just give up,
but when life is rough, we must look up, take a stand, and move on…we must fly
away.
Research states that gay youth are two to three times
more likely to attempt suicide than other young people. I wrote this song as a metaphor declaring
what to do in troubling situations.
Often times, it is hard to move on with life when my lifestyle causes
hectic issues to arise. I find serenity
through this song hoping that I can give others motivation when times aren’t
the best. Whether it be stressful
homosexuality issues or sorrow from a past situation, “fly away” can place
insight upon each issue one may face. In
life, it is very easy to just let go, and give up, but when times get rough, we
must pick our head up, take a stand, and move on…we must fly away.” - Joshua
Why Karen and Melody Liked
It: We liked that it dealt with issues that is
prevalent with gay teens, and offered hope to get through the hard times.

(I will never
give up..never.) I can see a bird
in the distant tree, Chirping away,
it’s a brand new day. This morning bird
has been rained upon, So, it spreads
it wings and flies away. Fly away… Fly away… Fly away… Fly away… The pouring rain
troubles the bird’s flight, So, it rests its
wings from the windy sky. When it takes a
land the thunder rolss, With the rain
falling down the bird don’t know what to do. (no…no…) Fly away… Fly away… Fly away… Fly away… (Fly away,
spread your wings and fly away) |
