“Being Who I Am”

By Anonymous

Desciption of Submission: “My own stand on being bisexual and how it affected my family and I. “ - Anoymous

I stand alone in my family,

and they look at me aghast.

How could I betray them,

and throw aside my Christian past?

For I could not explain

enough to make them understand,

that this is how I am and will be,

even if it means being banned.

I cannot help that I like girls,

as well as liking boys,

My feelings are not paltry,

and my emotions are not toys.

And so I face the scorn of family,

friends, and much of the land.

All because I chose to be who I am

and proudly wear my “brand”.
