“The Journey” By
Heather Saunders |
Desciption of Submission: “I wanted my poem to use a symbol that
embraces feminity and womanhood
as well as showing all aspects of a wom- motherhood,
sexuality, everything.” - Heather

I nibbled on
her breasts With pink soft
baby lips Receiving
warmth and strength and comfort I fell and
scraped myself Ran crying into
her arms Smothered in
safety By her woman’s
features I hit that age Where things
and people change A gentle
swelling of my chest Marked my
entrance into womanhood I lay my head
upon My man’s cold
smooth chest So bare and
chilling I lay
unfulfilled and desolate Seeking self I
found A heart
reaching for mine Beating under
golden skin A girl so sweet
and delicate I nibbled on
her breasts With polished
red glossed lips Discovering
warmth and strength and love |
