Description of Submission: "The school I attend is incredibly conservative. Most students are not very accepting of others who are "different", so I used my position as a writer for the school paper to allow fellow students a glimpse into the life of others." - Nicole

Why Karen and Melody Liked It: We liked this article because it was a very creative idea for a straight person to experience life as an openly gay student in highschool environment. It took a lot of courage to try such an experiment. It was good that this work did get published in the high school newspaper of a conservative school, to teach others the negative effects of discrimination towards gay people. |
